Mitsubishi Electric Heating and Cooling

Ductless Systems

A ductless heat pump system sends cooled or heated refrigerant straight to air-handling units by way of small pipes. Each living space uses its own air-handling unit and wireless electronic temperature controller. Below you can see an image that explains how the system works in a single room application.

How Ductless heating and cooling systems work

Hand held controls are convenient. The indoor unit uses refrigerant in the coil to cool or heat air, while quietly sending it where you need it in the living areas.

The outdoor unit is connected to the indoor unit through power and control wiring, and has an INVERTER-driven compressor pump that cools or warms the refrigerant and sends it inside through a series of pumps to an air handler.

The system also features a wireless controller for convenient adjustment of fan speed, temperature and more.

If your home is not fitted with already existing ductwork, the ductless system is a cost effective and efficient solution.
